Simeran Bachra

Simeran is an Associate Director at Anthesis – a B Corp sustainability consultancy – with extensive experience engaging cities and companies on place-based climate action. She has expertise and experience in supporting local authorities in setting science-based targets, developing climate action plans, and collaborating with key stakeholders to co-create solutions. Recently, Simeran has led the delivery of Angel Islington’s Net Zero Strategy, Waterloo’s Net Zero Strategy, and the update to Manchester’s Climate Change Framework.

Prior to Anthesis, Simeran was at CDP (previously the Carbon Disclosure Project) where she supported UK local authorities in climate disclosure to CDP and the Global Covenant of Mayors. An expert in climate reporting, Simeran supported the development of various tools and resources with Ashden, UK100, the Science Based Targets Network and Connected Places Catapult. Simeran is a member of Manchester’s Zero Carbon Advisory Board and was on Bristol’s Committee on Climate Change. Simeran is also on the Steering Group of Climate Reframe – a community of UK based environmental and climate justice activists, experts, and advocates from racialized minority backgrounds.
