About the Net Zero Festival

Our Journey

Following the success of BusinessGreen’s Net Zero Now campaign, which in 2019 helped deliver the UK’s world-leading legally-binding net zero target, the UK’s leading green business media brand launched the inaugural Net Zero Festival in autumn 2020.

The goal was simple: to celebrate and promote the best of the net zero transition, and in the process allow businesses, investors, policymakers, and campaigners to share the experience and best practices that would allow everyone to move faster, together in pursuit of net zero goals.

The first year of the Festival may have been disrupted by the covid pandemic, but by drawing on BusinessGreen’s growing audience and the brand’s 15 years of experiencing covering the burgeoning green economy, the Festival was quickly able to bring together over 1,000 senior business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and campaigners over two days through what became a hugely successful digital summit.

In the years that followed the Net Zero Festival has gone from strength to strength, marrying an in-person conference with digital content to provide delegates with an inspiring and engaging insight into the many ways in which the net zero transition is transforming the global economy, and the myriad risks and opportunities that are being created along the way.

The Festival has featured high profile speakers such as former Unilever boss Paul Polman, the CBI’s Rain Newton-Smith, and the CCC’s Chris Stark, as well as top broadcasters, such as Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Lucy Siegle, and Gavin Esler. It has also highlighted the many exciting clean technologies, cultural works, and political trends that are shaping the biggest and boldest industrial revolution in human history.

Now in its fourth year, 2024’s Net Zero Festival, powered by BusinesGreen, promises to be bigger and better than ever.

With the net zero agenda proving more high profile – and more controversial than ever - the Festival will bring together over 50 exhibitors, more than 100 speakers, and up to 3,000 delegates to explore how to accelerate the net zero transition and deliver on its huge potential. The event will feature four streams of content designed to inspire action, connect peers, showcase solutions, and provide advice on how best to execute net zero strategies. As ever, the hope is that by celebrating the best of the net zero transition it is possible for everyone to move faster, together.
